Actions to be Above is the solo performance enacted for 5 hours in the top floor room of the Palazzo Mora in Venice during International Performance Art Week, Dissenting Bodies Marking Time, 2020. I looked up and drew the wooden frame of the ceiling balcony with paper tapes on the wall. The ceiling that I tried to mimic was impossible to represent in the sense of looks resembling by constant moving of my body and eyes. In that sense, I considered my actions as translation. I did not give attention to the image I created during the performance to address my actions themselves. It was an experiment to invite people not to the wall but the ceiling. I wanted to see how I can lead people's eyes up by using my focusing. I expected my work, which began in response to the Palazzo Mora, guided the viewers into the ceiling, which is old and fragile, so forbidden to visit but still extremely beautiful.
